![]() This week I really focused on researching good stretching techniques before flipping. Stretching is very important so you don't get injured. Stretching also allows you to jump higher and rotate quick to finish the flip and land it. I am going to list 3 different stretches that I will be performing before each flip session. 1.Spine stretch- To do this stretch you have to sit down, spread your legs a little further than your hips. Next, you want to nod your head forward until you feel a nice stretch in your back. I need to make sure to breathe and hold the stretch for 15 sec. This stretch doesn't only stretch your back it also stretches your hamstrings and both feet. 2. Hamstring and calf stretch- To do this stretch you need to place your right or left foot in front of you. Next, you hinge at the waist and bend the leg you are not using. If I follow these instructions I should feel a stretch in my hamstrings and calf's. By doing this stretch it will allow me to jump higher so I have more time to rotate. 3.Overhead and shoulder stretch- bring one arm over your head and drop your forearm behind you. Next, you use the hand that is not placed behind you to grab right above the other arms elbow and pull gentle. Stretching is super important for my success in this project. Stretching will allow my body to feel ready to go for the different flips I am going to attempt, it will also prevent injuries so I will be able to keep pushing forwards to perfect all three different types of flips.
